This week the first trailer for Lily’s upcoming movie Abduction was released and we have now added the trailer to the video archive and HD screen captures to the gallery. It looks great and I can’t wait to see Lily in this movie.
What we know so far about Taylor Lautner’s first big non-”Twilight” movie “Abduction” is: not much. Except that he will be running. And protecting co-star Lily Collins. And peeking around things. Luckily MTV News caught up with Lily recently to get a few more details about the plot, what new sides of Taylor we’ll see in the action movie and, of course, if he’ll be shirtless at any point.
“[He is] very Jason Bourne-esque, of course with his own twist on it,” Lily explained of Taylor’s character in the film. “It’s a complete departure from Jacob. Obviously I’m in the movie so I’m biased, but I think it’s going to completely shock his fans, and people that necessarily don’t know him very well as Jacob that aren’t ‘Twilight’ fans. I think he brings an aspect people haven’t seen yet and [it's] very, very exciting.”
Regarding how their characters come to be involved in a few life-threatening situations, Lily explained that they have a history, so to speak.
And we also got to talk to Lily Collins, who plays the young Lucy, who gets kidnapped by vampires, thus sparking the movie’s rescue plot. We asked Collins how she tried to take the character beyond the usual “damsel in distress” role. And she said:
I start out as a damsel in distress [and] end up a fighter. There’s pivotal moments in the film where you’ll see Lucy clocking certain weapons or things, and she stores them to use up later, and she ends up turning into a fighter and taking her destiny into her own hands. So she definitely has her own thing going on at the end.
Appearantly Lily have dropped out of her upcoming project Romeo and Juliet, due to scheadual conflicts.
Lily Collins is really trimming the fat off her resume. The newly minted Snow White recently passed up the chance to star opposite Anton Yelchin in an adaptation of Dean Koontz’s “Odd Thomas” – leaving the door open for Addison Timlin to take the role instead – and now it appears she has also dropped out of a project she has been attached to for nearly a year – Italian director Carlo Carlei’s new adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic tragedy “Romeo and Juliet”. Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld is now in negotiations to sign on to the film, according to THR.

Hopefully, this week has been a fun one for all you “Mortal Instruments” fans, given all the newsy goodness MTV News got from star Lily Collins and director Scott Stewart at WonderCon. And you know what? There is STILL more to come! Today’s installment features lovely Lily talking about all the #awesome #fun she’s having on Twitter, writing as her character (@LilyAsClaryFray).
“I’m Tweeting as Clary Fray, and we’ve got almost 12,000 people now,” Lily said. “All the fans are writing in ideas. I’m linking out images of different aspects of the film and set pieces and wanting their input,” she explained. “Also knowing who they want as Jace, just making sure they feel as involved as I do because like I said, I’m a fan just like them and I’m Clary, so I want their input because I’m one of them as well.”
They have released a new still of Lily Collins and Taylor Lautner from their upcoming movie Abduction. The movie will premiere is USA on September 23, 2011. You can view the still in our gallery, enjoy.
A thriller centered on a young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website.
On April 13th the trailer for Abduction will premiere, stay tuned to see the trailer and caps here when it’s released.
Since playing Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw’s daughter in The Blind Side, Lily Collins‘ career has really taken off. Collins just nabbed the lead in Relativity Media’s Snow White project, is set to take on the starring role of ‘Clary’ in The Mortal Instruments, and she recently wrapped up work on Abduction opposite Twilight’s Taylor Lautner. Plus, she’ll soon be seen on the big screen in the action-adventure thriller Priest.
The 22 year old actress joined her Priest co-stars Paul Bettany and Cam Gigandet at the 2011 WonderCon in San Francisco to talk about the genre-bending film set for release on May 13th. Check out our exclusive interview to see what Collins had to say about playing ‘the screamer’ in Screen Gems’ Priest as well as a little news on Mortal Instruments:
Two cinematic reimaginings of Snow White are currently in the works, but lest you think both are going to turn out more or less the same, simply listen to how director Tarsem Singh conceives of his film’s look.
“It’s actually like if you looked at Gaudi’s architecture, based in England, done like a turn-of-the-century Russian film by an Indian guy,” he told MTV News.
Right. We’re guessing that the competing Snow White tale — from Rupert Sanders, making his directorial debut after a string of hyper-stylized TV commercials — isn’t going to encroach on Tarsem’s territory, and that’s just the way he wants it.
“There’s a brown guy telling you a Snow White tale to white people. Just by definition, when you put different ingredients, you get a different stew,” he said.
His yet-untitled film stars Julia Roberts as the evil queen, Armie Hammer (“The Social Network”) as the handsome prince and, after being cast earlier this month, Lily Collins (“The Blind Side”) as Snow White herself. Why Collins, a relative unknown whose profile is on the rise after being cast in the adaptation of the “Mortal Instruments” young adult book series?
“Her eyebrows,” Tarsem joked. “I just saw her eyebrows and I said, ‘That’s Snow White.’ ”
Appearantly Lily has passed on the movie Odd Thomas, since she choose to take the role as Snow White instead.
It’s the lay of the land these days, as rising actors make tough career decisions, trading one high profile role for another. Just as Jennifer Lawrence dropped out of Oliver Stone’s “Savages” to take the lead role in “The Hunger Games”, now Lily Collins has been confirmed to be officially passing on the adaptation of Dean Koontz’s “Odd Thomas” opposite Anton Yelchin after taking the title role in Tarsem Singh’s “Snow White” instead. Variety reports today that “Californication” actress Addison Timlin is now in negotiations for the role vacated by Collins, Stormy Llewellyn.

‘He’s got to have wit but also be very vulnerable,’ she tells MTV News.
Although “The Mortal Instruments” movie has found its Clary Fray, via actress Lily Collins, there are still a few big roles to be cast — mainly one Jace Wayland, Clary’s is-he-or-isn’t-he love interest.
We’ve had some fun speculating about rumored contenders and fan favorites, but when MTV News sat down with Lily Collins at WonderCon recently, we asked her to comment on the heated casting competition — specifically, what they’re looking for in their future Jace. (Head to our Hollywood Crush blog for everything we’ve got on Cassandra Clare’s fourth “Mortal Instruments” book, “City of Fallen Angels,” which hits stores Tuesday.)
“Jace is confident and knows he’s confident,” Collins explained. “He’s good-looking and knows he’s good-looking. He’s got that je ne sais quoi, in that he walks into a room and you go, ‘Wow.’ He knows he’s the best thing in the room. He’s got to have wit but also be very vulnerable, and I think it’s hard. I think a lot of actors don’t necessarily want to show vulnerability, but [for] this character, it’s completely necessary but, at the same time, that overconfidence as well. I think it’s going to be that thing where they walk into a room and you do a reading and go, ‘Wow, I really can’t see anyone else as this character,’ so it’s going to be an interesting process.”
